Position Overview
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) – Medical Devices is responsible for driving sales growth and market expansion within an assigned territory. The role involves leading a sales team, executing sales strategies, managing key customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets.
Lead, train, and manage a team of sales representatives to ensure high performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, surgeons, hospitals, and procurement teams.
Conduct regular field visits for product promotion, customer engagement, and post-sales support.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales data to identify growth opportunities.
Drive new business development and expansion into untapped markets.
Plan and execute product demonstrations, presentations, and training programs.
Track sales performance, prepare forecasts, and submit regular reports using CRM tools.
Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and ethical sales practices.
Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, logistics, and product teams to support business goals.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in medical devices or healthcare sales.
Minimum 2 years in a sales leadership or managerial role.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Solid understanding of medical devices and clinical applications.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in CRM and sales tools.
Results-driven, customer-focused, and able to work under pressure.
Compensation
Salary: ₹4 – ₹6 LPA (No bar for strong and experienced candidates)
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
